An animation to demonstrate generator management during a power cut to a hospital facility.
Create an animated diagram showing the full scenario of bus sections opening and closing, generators ramping up and syncing, then cooling down and disconnecting from the hospitals as the mains power returns.
MY ROLE
I led the full creation of the animation using After Effects to composite different scenes together and overlaying visual effects to further demonstrate the generator processes, as well as addining in call to actions. I also led the creation of the 3D scenes with a freelancer, and I designed and animated the bus sections diagram to show the transfer of power between the Mains Supply to the Generators which was the backbone of the whole animation.
Working closely with the client to provide technical input on the key stages of the generator management system, I worked with them on creating a storyboard to follow each stage. I set up the After Effects file with multiple pre-compositions that allowed me to seperate the complex layering of different effects, particularly with the bus section diagram. This enabled me to more easily make revisions to the timings or make larger scale changes to the order of events within the animation as a whole.
